THE IDEA
Your digital home should belong to you.
The proof of concept is intentionally narrow: put a normal private home network inside a sandboxed environment while preserving the quality of its interaction with the outside internet.
Today, the ordinary home network is built around connection first and ownership second. Devices, services, accounts, conversations, behavioral data, and personal intelligence routinely move beyond the physical home because that is how the modern internet has been designed.
Sandboxed asks whether we can reverse that default.
The immediate question is not whether we can disconnect from the internet. That would be easy—and mostly useless. The question is whether a household can keep its private digital environment local by default while still using the external internet normally.
POC
Private inside. Fully connected outside.
Prove the boundary first. Butler AI, home automation, homeschool tools, local personal intelligence, and other applications can grow inside that environment later.
What success looks like
A functional home digital environment in which private data remains inside the household sandbox by default, external internet services remain usable, and the person—not a remote platform—controls what crosses the boundary.
This Idea is still being developed. The community can challenge assumptions, expose problems, improve the concept, and help determine whether it deserves the resources required to become an Idareus Project.
